BGN started nearly 20 years ago, providing network solutions to elite motorsport teams at the track. Initially focused on local internet, we quickly expanded, partnering with AT&T to connect trackside operations directly to factories: laying the groundwork for our growth.

Managing Director

Gustav formed BGN in 2006 and has been at its helm ever since.  With a diverse industry background across IT security and telecommunications.  He leads from the front and is passionate about new technologies, innovation and delivering world class solutions with an unstoppable “can do” attitude. 

Ed Wagner

Operations Director

Ed has been working with Gustav since before BGN’s inception. With a background in telecommunications and a strong track record of delivering solutions in F1, MotoGP, and other racing series, he is instrumental in the day-to-day operations of the business, overseeing everything from commercial negotiations to service delivery and beyond.

Wayne Humphreys
Wayne Humphreys
Finance Director

Wayne is a PWC-trained Chartered Accountant with over 40 years of commercial and value for money experience. He joined BGN in 2010 and has had 34 years in the motorsport industry, including Group C, BTCC, F3 and has held senior financial positions in F1 teams, including Benetton, Arrows and Super Aguri.

Programme Manager

Joining BGN in 2016 after a 12-year tenure in the F1 team that began as Jordan and ended as Aston Martin, Robert brings experience from over 250 race and test events where he was responsible for the design, build and operation of the team’s trackside IT operation.  Robert now works across the spectrum of business function at BGN.

Race Operations Manager

Alun joined in 2018 as an Event Leader, before taking on the responsibilities of Race Operations Manager, dealing with all aspects of running the operations team at track. With 25 years’ experience in the armed forces dealing with Logistical IT systems before spending 4 years Mercedes AMG F1 trackside team, holding the role of IT Systems Analyst.

George re-joined BGN after four years working in MotoGP as a Deputy Race Director, having originally joined BGN as an Event Technician over seven years ago. With a strong background in operations, he is focused on delivering the highest standards of service, problem-solving, and developing client-focused solutions across all projects.

Head of Product (Elements)

James is a product professional with 35 years’ experience creating, managing, and delivering wonderful software across a multitude of industries. He leads the direction of the BGN Elements software platform.
